S. Srivaramangai has worked in development for 23 years, collaborating with governmental and community-based institutions as well as organisations like UNICEF, DANIDA, and the World Bank. He is knowledgeable on watershed development, solid waste management, ecological sanitation, biodiversity preservation, school sanitation and hygiene instruction, and water quality monitoring. With the Total Sanitation Campaign, she has developed skills in ecological sanitation, creating kid- and girl-friendly latrines using cost-effective methods, and implementing emergency response projects including waste management focused on shelters in tsunami-affected areas. She founded and taught Self Help Groups in bookkeeping, credit and thrift, and livelihood activities. His experience includes organising PIP exercises, starting CBOs, assessing and supervising CBO operations, assisting with livelihoods, doing needs evaluations, mapping skills, and providing training young people in skills, and advancing knowledge management through documentation and capacity building. .
