The Government of India launched DAY NULM, also known as Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana-National Urban Livelihoods Mission, as a flagship initiative to improve the employment and standard of living for the urban poor in our country. Its main goals are to improve the chances for the urban poor to make a living by fostering entrepreneurship, providing financial access and developing their skills. The programme offers aid with street vending, skill training, job placement and self-employment endeavours. In addition, social mobilization, capacity building and the development of sustainable urban lives are prioritized by DAY-NULM. Through the effective execution of this plan, we hope to empower underprivileged urban communities by raising their standard of life, promoting economic inclusion and promoting general socioeconomic growth in urban regions around the nation.
Under the DAY-NULM programme, Metamorphosis Engineering & Skill Development Services (MESDS) granted a contract to Sree Rajarajeswari Educational Trust for executing a Placement Linked Training Project in Chennai District. As part of this project, 119 youth have been mobilized, trained, and assigned to contact centers or as Telecom Customer Care Executives. In addition to domain-specific training, the trust have provided training in soft skills and communication skills. A welcome kit will be given by MESDS to each batch at the beginning. The project’s successful completion, which would enhance Chennai’s employment and skill-development opportunities, excites MESDS.

In the Chennai District, 119 urban youth received training to become customer care executives in the telecom industry. 90 youth got the chance to be job placed.
In order to improve BPL children’s access to employment opportunities in urban locations, Sree Rajarajeswari Educational Trust was assisting the LEEDS Skill Training Centre Private Limited (LEEDS) collaborated on the DAY-NULM project. Working with Sree Rajarajeswari Educational Trust, it was simple to assist 180 applicants in finding employment in positions like relationship managers and customer care executives. In accordance with the conditions of the consultancy agreement, the complete services include setting up mock interviews, offering on-the-job training, and guaranteeing successful job placements in various districts including Chennai, Villupuram, Tiruvallur, Ranipet, Thanjavur, Vellore, Tiruvarur, Nagapattinam. They improved lives, promoted sustainable livelihoods, and aided in the growth of the community through various initiatives.
Sree Rajarajeswari Educational Trust was assisting the LEEDS Skill Training Centre Private Limited to provide skills to the urban youths in the Telecom and Apparel sectors between 2021 and 2023. Customer care executive training was provided to 785 urban young, while Checker inline and Measurement training was provided to 490 urban youth covers the Chennai, Villupuram, Tiruvallur, Ranipet, Thanjavur, Tiruvarur, Nagapattinam districts.
