Urban Livelihoods Mission

Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana-National Urban Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NULM)

The Government of India launched DAY NULM, also known as Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana-National Urban Livelihoods Mission, as a flagship initiative to improve the employment and standard of living for the urban poor in our country. Its main goals are to improve the chances for the urban poor to make a living by fostering entrepreneurship, providing financial access and developing their skills. The programme offers aid with street vending, skill training, job placement and self-employment endeavours. In addition, social mobilization, capacity building and the development of sustainable urban lives are prioritized by DAY-NULM. Through the effective execution of this plan, we hope to empower underprivileged urban communities by raising their standard of life, promoting economic inclusion and promoting general socioeconomic growth in urban regions around the nation.
